Just in time for virtual back to school, Maryland’s annual tax-free week begins Sunday. And it’s not restricted to back-to-school items. The Comptroller of Maryland has published a long list of items that are tax exempt during the week.

Students attending a Maryland university, college, or trade school are eligible to win a scholarship as part of tax-free week. The Maryland Retailers Association offers a $1,000 first-place scholarship and a second-place scholarship of $500 to students who tell how they helped a Maryland business stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic.
