Small Business Saturday is November 28th!
[Annapolis, MD] – The Maryland Retailers Association joins with the National Retail Federation and American Express in promoting Small Business Saturday. This important “shop local event” encourages shoppers to “shop small” as these retailers directly impact local communities.
“Retailers can sign up with American Express today to become Neighborhood Champions and organize local events,” noted MRA President Cailey Locklair Tolle. “88 million people came to Shop Small on Small Business Saturday last year, so there are major incentives to businesses who participate in the event. Retailers often host in store events, decorate their stores and have exclusive specials consumers do not want to miss.”
In addition to creating jobs and providing much needed tax revenue to the state, retailers give back to communities and stabilize neighborhoods. Shopping local is important for many reasons and MRA hopes Marylanders will keep this in mind, not just for the holidays, but year round.
