The 2016 Annual Meeting is scheduled for September 25, 2016. Details are as follows:
MRA’s Annual Meeting and Dinner moves to a Sunday afternoon-evening format this year to better accommodate the busy schedules of our members. Be sure to join your fellow retailers for a jam packed afternoon including the annual meeting and officer voting, educational seminars, networking with legislators, dinner and a special performance by award winning Maryland artist Maggie Rose.
Following board and membership meetings, there will be two educational opportunities including a a presentation by Google Business View on how to boost your business online and cost saving partners that can cover your dues and more.
After a cocktail hour networking with legislators, dinner will be highlighted by guest speaker Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio, Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Larry Hogan and former legislator and returning this year is the popular MRA All Star Team! Thirty-seven state legislators made our All Star Team to be recognized at the Awards Dinner. This is a great opportunity to interact with your state elected officials and thank them for their support. Additionally, MRA Legislator of the Year Awards will be given to Senators Bobby Zirkin and Wayne Norman as well as a Tri State Legislator of the Year award to Delegate Sid Saab. Our Louis L. Goldstein award will be given to Thomas Cormier of Ahold USA and Law Enforcement Award will be given to Cpl. Justin Blubaugh of Harford County.
New this year is a performance by award winning Maryland artist Maggie Rose. Raised in Maryland, Rose cut her teeth as the leader of a Bruce Springsteen cover band before beginning to write her own songs, drawing on her unique background — including a move to Nashville as a 19 year old — for inspiration. Since then, she’s filled her resume with accolades, awards, and chart hits, including more than 30 appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, an Emmy Award, multiple performances on the nationally-syndicated Bobby Bones Show, and praise from outlets like The New York Times and Vogue.
You don’t want to miss this year’s event as it will not disappoint.
